It all started in Ethiopia where the Coffea bushes were growing wild. The story goes that a goat herder
found his goats bleeting deliriously, eating a red cherry-like fruit from an unfamiliar bush.
Eventually the people of the region realised it was the 'seed' or bean inside the fruit that held a certain
uplifting magic.
Today Ethiopia produces some excellent raw bean and we are proud to stock the Fairtrade Ethiopian
Sidamo - certified organic. A dark roasted, chocolatey coffee with a smooth finish, this is a beauty.
Maybe you would prefer to travel to Indonesia for the complex, full-bodied Sumatran Mandheling.
We also have some great blends including the heavy dark, five bean espresso blend called Black Silk.
Or perhaps the laidback creamyness of the excellent Mokacino is more your style.
Our best seller and a must try is the superbly balanced Brazil Blue - a house favourite.
We are also big supporters of the Fairtrade growing system and our Fairtrade Blend (roasted by
locals Gigante) won the Organic category at the recent Golden Bean Roasting Championship of Australia.
